Jokes aside, February 1st, this 2022, marks the advent of the Chinese New Year, which accordingly represents new beginnings, and also encourages practices that attract good luck and harmony into living or working spaces. 

So, we thought – a little office makeover, arranged within ancient Chinese Feng Shui’s principles, and of course, inspired by the Lunar New Year, is precisely what we all need in order to align our workspaces with the goals we have set for the upcoming months.

What is Feng Shui?

“Feng” means wind and “Shui” water – in Chinese culture, wind and water are associated with Earth and its good energy, also known as chi.

The geomancy’s fundament, uniting wind and water, is interacting with the environment and enabling the attraction of chi through specific in- and outdoor improvements.

Where to start?

In Feng Shui, clutter is said to be stealing away this good energy that we want more of, so tidying up around your desk is where to start!

Rebalance your chi by throwing away all no longer needed papers and notes. Browse through your pencil holder and check if all pens and markers are still working.

Organizing items, such as organizer trays, will help put everything in order. They are not expensive at all, yet they make a whole lot of difference.

Also, consider removing artworks that are discouraging and do not convey a positive message. Instead, place pieces that will contribute to the office’s atmosphere.

Plants are an essential part of Feng Shui’s practices. They complete the looks of a space, uplift the mood, and purify the atmosphere.
